Practical Analytics: getting at the truth
If you are involved in a small business (less than 100 employees) then you, like so many others, have likely struggled to get the insightful data that your larger counterparts benefit from. Small businesses often capture less information, partly because there is simply less data generated by smaller companies and partly because it is costly to implement the tools and procedures to collect that vital data. While these obstacles are real they are not prohibitive. Complex analytics can be as harmful as they are helpful, while simple analytics can be far easier from which to draw conclusions. A focused analytics effort can go along way and can be done for little cost.
